Kgori - Maun – Moremi game reserve- Khwai & Central Kalahari

Our KGORI package connects two amazing wildlife sanctuaries in Botswana - wetland meets desert.

The adventure begins in Moremi Game Reserve travelling to the Khwai Private Concession. The area is dominated by grasslands, permanent flood plains and large areas of Mopane forests.

Animals migrate down during the dry season from the Linyanti area, as the Khwai River forms a reliable source of water attracting many antelopes, giraffes, buffalos, and zebras. There are of course, also an un-countable amount of bird species, including egrets, cranes, vultures and different species of eagles.

These regions are a must visit for exceptional predator sightings, amazing birding as well as different and interesting aquatic species.

The adventure has an overnight stop over in Maun to restock before proceeding to the Kalahari. This semi desert habitat offers one of the most amazing photographic experiences.

Nothing can prepare a visitor for the sheer size and immensity of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve (CKGR), nor its wild, mysterious beauty. There is the immediate impression of unending space.

Deception Valley, located in the north, is one of the reserve highlights due to dense concentrations of herbivores that gather to feed on the sweet grasses that spring into life after the rainy season. Naturally, these animals attract the usual itinerant predators.

Central Kalahari National Park's stunning terrain includes fossil river valleys dotted with dwarf trees and bushes, grasslands and dunes of many colours. Wildlife is abundant, and the animals are attracted to waterholes along the otherwise dry riverbed.

Rich birding is always part of the experience. Over 170 species of birds are present here, it is not uncommon to see over 30 bird species within a few kilometres of the campsite. Some natural and man-made water holes are the places to observe a variety of different species of wild life with predator activities.
